The Sacred Courage to Outgrow Your Circle
by Renee McLaurine // September 2 // 0

Let us strip away the polite illusions and speak directly to the marrow of the bone. Some of us are locked in endless cycles fighting the exact same battles, crying over the same wounds, and leaning into the very same dysfunction year after year. Why? Because we are operating from a spirit of lack. We are terrified that if we let go of the chaos, we will be left with nothing at all.
We comfort ourselves by pointing to our circle, claiming they are standing “ten toes down” with us. But let’s challenge that loyalty. If you were to fully awaken to your divine nature today—if you stepped forward as a sovereign creator, manifesting, expanding, and refusing to play small—could your tribe (chosen or the one you’re born into) actually handle your light?
The uncomfortable truth is that many people are simply pacifying you, and you them. They don’t want you to heal because your brokenness excuses their own. Look closely at your reflection: **Are you acting as a proxy for complacency?** Are you the excuse your tribe uses to remain stagnant? By staying quiet and comfortable, you are entering into a sacred agreement to let others die in their smallness. That is not love. That is a betrayal of the highest good.
True village energy does not coddle your illusions. A real tribe will love you enough to call you to the carpet—and burn the rug underneath your feet if that is what it takes to get you moving. They will push you into the holy fire because they know you are built to survive and transform in that very same fire.
Growth requires a brutal understanding of cosmic balance. For every dark night, there is a dawn; for every sacrifice, there is a greater inheritance. Yet, you have spent decades running in the same exhausting circles, pointing fingers at external enemies, and complaining that others are blocking your path.
No, my friend. The boundary that is being crossed is the one you refuse to set. Not with others but within yourself. The cords of attachment you refuse to cut are your own hands holding the rope.
Look at the sky. We are nine months deep into this year. The calendar is bleeding out its final four months, and your next solar return is chasing you down. What have you actually done with the breath inside your lungs since your last cycle? You made holy vows to your spirit that you haven’t even touched. You chose the familiar whip of complacency over the unfamiliar freedom of execution. Pouring alcohol on a wound does not heal it; it just numbs the pain.
It is time to get down to the business of your growth. Stop settling for what is handed to you by default and lean entirely into what you were designed to be. The fire is hot, the passion burns deep, but the kingdom within you is waiting. Isn’t it time?
